When the children first arrive at our foster care center, they are admitted to the center's special unit rooms where they undergo general medical checkup.
Sick children are cared for by a professional staff of physicians and nurses as well as certified nannies. The medical care is given for 24 hours. There are two full-time doctors and 10 nurses.
The nannies care for the children with great love and attention 24 hours a day. There are over 80 nannies. The ratio of nanny to infant is one to three while the ratio of nanny to toddler is one to five. All the nannies are trained on child care and are certified. Most of the nannies are trained at CHSFS Ethiopia's Primary Health Care Givers Training Institute, while others are trained at other training institutions. |
